Difficulty Ratings We are often asked to specify the difficulty level of the hiking tours. Here's what we can tell you: Quinte Trek and Quinte Mini-Trek would definitely be rated "Easy" i.e. any reasonably fit person would have no problem with any of the activities. We do advise you to bring hiking footwear as we have one day in rougher (but not hilly) terrain. For the rest of the tour comfortable walking shoes are ok. For the two days in the Sandbanks Park, you may prefer good walking sandals or Tevas. We walk 8 - 14 km/day. (If you are not used to walking this far, we suggest you begin a conditioning program of daily walks a few weeks before the trip.) Niagara Adventure and Niagara Mini-Adventure have a variety of difficulty levels from "Easy" to "Challenging". The amount of walking also varies - from 8 - 13 km/day with quite a lot of additional "walking around" to see the sights. Where the hiking is particularly challenging we offer options for those who would like less challenge ( and the van is always available!). Hiking footwear is required. On the Rideau Ramble, the hikes vary somewhat in difficulty. Most would be classified as "Moderate" but some are "Challenging". We walk 10 - 15 km/day. Hiking footwear is required. The Haliburton Holiday hikes are "Moderate" but with some steep sections. We hike app. 8km the first and last days. There is one full day of hiking about 16km and one non-hiking day. Hiking footwear is required The Bruce Experience includes the most variety of
