The tour price does not include travel to and from the trip’s starting point. (Sunsations Travel can help you with these arrangements), alcoholic beverages, telephone calls and items of a personal nature, health/cancellation insurances, discretionary gratuities.

In some cases, you might want to take advantage of some additional opportunities for activities in the areas we are visiting. We will provide transportation to the sites for you and pick you up; we can also assist in booking times, tickets, etc.

Prices, Reservations and Payments

We guarantee that our published prices for 2008 tours will not change.

If you are traveling alone, a single supplement will be charged and you will be assigned to a private room in each accommodation facility. If you would like to be matched with another tour participant to share a room, please tell us that and we will arrange that whenever possible.  Single rooms are not available for the Haliburton Holiday.

A deposit of $300 is required to book a reservation for tours costing over $1000 and $200 for tours under $1000. Print out the booking form and mail to Something's Afoot.

At the time of receipt of the deposit, you will be billed for final payment. Full payment is due 45 days prior to trip departure.

Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. When a trip is full, applicants are put on a waitlist.

All reservations are accepted subject to the approval of the tour leader.

Cancellation Policy

Regardless of the reason, cancellations are costly to us. Therefore, all cancellations, for any reason whatsoever, will be subject to a $100 per person administration fee.

If you cancel 60 to 30 days before the trip, the cancellation fee is 50% of the tour price.

In the case of cancellation 30 days or less before the trip or non-appearance the entire cost of the trip will be forfeited unless the space can be resold. In the event space is resold, a refund, equal to the resale value of the space, will be made after the deduction of the administrative fee.

We recommend that you purchase travel insurance through our travel agent, Sunsations Travel.

We reserve the right to cancel a trip if there are fewer than four guests registered. In this event, we would contact you one month before the scheduled start of the tour and return all payments you have made. Please check with us before confirming your airline ticket to make sure the trip is definitely on.

We reserve the right to cancel any trip at any time for any reason if we judge the quality of the trip or the safety of our travelers is compromised. In such a case, refund of any payments received shall constitute full settlement.

Health

Any travel involves risks – and rewards – beyond those encountered at home. Since physical activity is a feature of our tours, somewhat more than normal risk of injury may be present.

We promise to take the hassle out of a great walking/travel experience. In return, we count on you to be healthy and fit, to have read our pre-trip materials and to be prepared for the unexpected.

Please check your health insurance to ensure that you are covered for treatment in Ontario. If you are not, our travel agent can arrange for visitor coverage for you.

By sending a deposit, you certify that you do not have any physical condition that would create a hazard for you or fellow travelers.

As in all travel, there are other risks associated with the trips, such as theft or loss of or damage to property. Please be aware of these; bring with you only what you really need and, if you wish, ensure that you are protected by insurance.

Accuracy

We have attempted to make all the information we supply accurate whether on our own web site, on others with which we have links or advertising and on all our printed materials. However, mistakes are sometimes made and circumstances beyond our control may necessitate changes.

Waiver

When you send us your deposit, you will receive an information package about the tour you have booked. It will include some information requests about your medical condition, eating preferences, etc. so that we can ensure your comfort along the way.

We ask that you return these questionnaires promptly along with the signed waiver affirming that you have read and accept these terms and conditions.

A trip reservation is subject to cancellation if these materials are not returned in a timely manner.

We reserve the right to remove any participant from a tour at any time if his/her behavior constitutes a hazard to the well being and/or safety of the group.

Limitation of Liability and Jurisdiction

Sunsations Travel and/or Something’s Afoot will not be responsible for any physical or mental injury or loss (including property loss or damage) arising in connection with a traveler’s participation in a trip, however caused, unless caused by the reckless, wilful or fraudulent conduct of Something’s Afoot personnel, even if caused by the negligence of Something’s Afoot, our employees, agents or independent contractors.
